Horae Large Amphora, Smoke Fired Vessel
Touched by the smoke and flame, this one-of-a-kind hand sculpted feminine vessel was fired in an open-air sawdust and wood kiln with a combination of organic materials and metals that flash and fume creating the beautiful coloring and dramatic surface and celestial-like markings. The surfaces change with rotation of each piece, revealing worlds within worlds, as the flame and materials mark each side of the vessel differently.
There’s deep carbonization and dramatic metallic rainbow flashing on this piece as well as markings and color ranges of reds, blues and greys on one side and a loop of deep carbon black smoke makes an arch up the piece.
2025
One-of-a-kind.
Dimensions approx: 8 × 8 × 14
For decorative purposes, handle with care. Due to the smoke firing process this vessel does not hold water.
