Nova II Moon Jar, Smoke Fired Vessel
Touched by the smoke and flame, this one-of-a-kind hand sculpted and textured vessel was fired in an open-air sawdust and wood kiln with a combination of organic materials and metals that flash and fume creating the beautiful coloring and dramatic surface and celestial-like markings.
The surfaces change with rotation of each piece, revealing worlds within worlds, as the flame and materials mark each side of the vessel differently. Copper reds swirl into pink hued clay, then rich dark carbon black marks the top of this vessel.
2024
One-of-a-kind.
Dimensions approx: 8 × 8 × 8
For decorative purposes, handle with care. Due to the smoke firing process this vessel does not hold water.
