Demetria Chappo is an artist, ceramist, and educator based in New York’s Hudson Valley. She creates ceramic sculptures, art/objects, functional tableware and home decor inspired by natural landscapes, universal symbolism, and the play between earth materials and the cosmos.
Her Smoke Collection is open-air fired using sawdust, wood, and other natural materials, to create dramatic surfaces indelibly marked by flame, smoke, and chance.

Every piece is handmade in her studio, shaped by processes of coiling, pinching, slab forms, or throwing on the potter’s wheel, then fired into ceramic capturing the tactile magic of clay in surface and form.
